This week we welcome back long-time Los Alamos chef Jesper Johansson to Bell Street! Plenty on Bell is set to open today, January 26, and will be serving breakfast and lunch every day but Monday. (Correction August 2016: Plenty is now open daily from 11-4 with dinner hours until 8 on Friday and Saturday.)
Plenty on Bell’s opening this week is eagerly anticipated by those of us who lost access to his yummy and hearty food nearly 4 months ago when Café Quackenbush closed. Plus, behind this modest eatery is Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian, the groundbreaking duo behind Edible Communties, the largest local-food magazine publisher in the US.
Much of the herbs and produce will be sourced from the couple’s own gardens in Los Alamos, then turned into comfort food Johansson grew up with in Sweden. Traditional baking and cooking everything from scratch defined his childhood home, with fun, festive cooking for friends on weekends.
Now, we all get to enjoy Johansson’s farm-to-table comfort food-for-friends at Plenty on Bell, Los Alamos’ newest neighborhood kitchen table! Get a sneak peek below.
